Should I just focus in school and forget about being successful with girls like the other guys?

It's nice to know a bunch of hot girls who go to clubs and join fraternities and sororities, but is it worth it for me to be somewhat out of sync in school for chasing good looking girls? My friend once told me that girls are a waste of time. No matter what you do, they just fall for es. And he thinks bad guys are just a bunch of posers.
