Can someone make up a ridiculous myth?

I've heard a myth that cutting your hair during pregnancy causes blindness to the unborn baby. Can someone make up a ridiculous "explanation" for this myth? It's for a project in my English cl and I need to give some kind of explanation for this myth, but it has to be funny!
